2021 Malaysia-China Enterprise Cross-Border Cooperation Online Business Matching Conference

Bilateral collaboration between Malaysia and China continue to grow despite challenges from the pandemic. In correspondence to that, the “2021 Malaysia-China Enterprise Cross-Border Cooperation Online Business Matching Conference” will be held virtually on 17th September, 9:30am via Facebook live stream on the page of The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad and China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM).

This event is jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad for the fourth time after being held successfully in 2015, 2018 and 2019 respectively. Special guests include H.E. Mr. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, Dato’ Low Kian Chuan, President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and Mr. Wang Bing, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd.

The purpose of this business matching event is to create a platform for the exchange of business information and explore new business opportunities between the Chinese and Malaysian companies. Currently, this event has successfully attracted more than 600 Chinese companies and about 200 Malaysian companies to sign up for the business matching conference.

Zhang Peidong, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia 47 years ago, the relationship between the two countries has always been healthy and with stable development. She hopes that the “2021 Malaysia-China Enterprise Cross-Border Cooperation Online Business Matching Conference” will bring both Chinese and Malaysian companies to work closely together despite the pandemic. This will definitely help in promoting the economic and trade relationship of both China and Malaysia to a higher level.

Dato’ Low Kian Chuan, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) cum President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) stated that, Malaysia is the first ASEAN country to establish diplomatic relations with China. In addition to that, China has also become Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years. Malaysia-China relationship has great potential and need to be maintained. As the national level organisation of the Chinese chambers of commerce in Malaysia, ACCCIM will continue to actively promote Malaysia-China economic and trade cooperation. Despite the pandemic, ACCCIM aims to overcome challenges and achieve a win-win situation for both countries.

Zhang Min, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad stated that Bank of China is the longest continuous operation bank in China, with a glorious history of more than 100 years. As part of the Bank of China Group, Bank of China Malaysia has successfully held three Malaysia-China Enterprise Cross-border matching events, providing business collaboration opportunities for more than 800 enterprises from both countries. Amid the pandemic crisis, the primary aspiration of Bank of China is to build an exchange and cooperation platform for global SMEs, especially Malaysian and Chinese enterprises.

In relation to that, the “E-Cooperation” application proudly launched and initiated by Bank of China will also be used in this online matchmaking conference. As of the end of July, Bank of China has successfully held 81 matchmaking events around the world. The “E-Cooperation” application has provided precise business matching services to nearly 40,000 enterprises in 125 countries across five continents in the world. The platform has gathered nearly 300,000 Chinese and foreign companies where it has also received positive reviews from these companies in helping them to achieve a series of business cooperation such as trade, investment, and technology.

The supporting units of this event includes Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), SME Corporation Malaysia, National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM), and Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC).
